Used week ten message from Pastor Chris Russell on November 25, 2018 at Community Church of Waterford, Goshen, Indiana. The book of Esther is found in the Old Testament, that part of the Bible that covers the history of God and His people from Creation until shortly before the time of Jesus here on Earth. It is written like a modern day novel - driven by its characters with a blend of suspense, intrigue, betrayal, conspiracy and treachery. I would encourage you read the book of Esther this week for yourself. It doesn’t even take an hour to read the entire book. It’s one of my favorite books of the Bible, from the standpoint of how it is written and from the standpoint of the lessons that can be learned from Esther’s life. Esther 4:11 Finding your place… …requires great faith and trust. Esther 4:12-14 Finding your place… …requires great faith and trust. …requires great courage. Esther 4:15-16 When you are uncertain about your purpose, God has a place for you. God will put you in the right place at the right time to accomplish His purposes. But you have to be focused enough on Him to see the opportunities that are around you and you need to be courageous when your name is called upon to step up to the plate. Will you have the trust and faith of Esther to believe that God has a bigger purpose? Will you have the courage of Esther to do the right thing even when it seems overwhelming and scary? Will you have the joy of Esther, knowing that you stepped up and joined God in his redemptive story of turning hearts towards Him and giving them the hope of eternity with a God that is crazy in love with them? God puts the opportunities in front of you. You have to choose to step in to them.
