Treasureland is our children's ministry, serving newborns through 5th grade. In Treasureland, your child will experience God's love through our dedicated adult classroom leaders, who will share a Bible story as well as prayer time, and who will lead children in a related craft or activity. Treasureland classes are offered during our Sunday morning service, starting at 10:10 am, as well as during our WOW activities, meeting Wednesday nights from 6:30 pm-8:00 pm through the school year.
While our Nursery and Family Room are located upstairs, directly across from the auditorium, children ages 2.5 years through 5th grade meet downstairs in the room designated for their age group. Simply stop by the Check-In desk upon arriving, and an attendant will direct you on where to go.
Treasureland's Family Room is available for anyone who chooses to keep their child with them during service. The Family Room (located next to the Nursery) is equipped with toys, rocking chairs, a crib, a private nursing room, and a television linked directly to the service happening in the auditorium.
Birth-2 1/2 years old
Our Treasureland Nursery is located directly across from the auditorium on the first floor and serves infants from birth to age 2.5 years. Parents are welcome to check in on their child through the tinted window directly behind the Check-In desk or by going into the Family Room and peeking through the window there.
2 1/2 - 3 years old
Our Castle Room is always full of energy! This room serves children who are 2.5 through 3 years of age. The class starts with a beginning activity related to the lesson, but children always have the option of open play time.
After the beginning activity, children are encouraged to help one another clean up toys before doing a simple craft related to the day's lesson. The craft is followed by Bible story time, which, beyond the story, includes prayer time. Last, children are given a snack and either play a game related to the lesson or are given free time to play and focus on showing others in their class God's love through sharing and playing together.
4 years old - Kindergarten
The Garden Room in Treasureland includes children who are 4 years old through kindergarten. This class is run similar to the Castle Room. It starts with a beginning activity, followed by a craft, both of which relate back to the day's topic. After the craft, the class continues into a Bible story (which includes prayer time) and ends with a closing game or open play time. Due to the growing independence of this age range, Garden Room children get to do crafts that require slightly more demanding hands-on steps, including such things as practicing using scissors, drawing, and using various craft supplies to complete their project for the day. Children are also asked many questions regarding their Bible story throughout their time in class, including questions on their own personal experiences that relate to the day's topic.
1st Grade - 2nd Grade
Jungle Room serves children who are in 1st or 2nd grade. Whereas our younger children are more focused on basic Bible principles, such as learning to love one another, helping one another, and obeying God, Jungle Room children focus on those themes as well as more specific details within the stories including topics such as why individuals in the Bible made the choices they did. Children question the motives of people within the Bible and are then asked to consider their own motives in their reaction to situations they encounter today. They are also given the opportunity to play games and/or do activities each Sunday that allow them to socialize with others in their classroom and practice how God would have us treat one another.
3rd Grade - 5th Grade
Our Space Room is directed towards kids who are in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade. Kids in Space Room have the opportunity to go upstairs and worship in the front row of the auditorium with the adults. Once returning to their room at the conclusion of worship time, they get to hear a Bible story or principle, but this class has a bigger focus than just the details of what happened in any given story. Space Room kids discuss why individuals in the Bible made the choices they made, how we make similar choices today, and how we can use the Bible to guide our choices (and the difference that can make). While there is often a variety of crafts and games included in a Space Room lesson on any given Sunday, it is not unusual for the kids to choose to fill the majority of the time in discussion on a particular Bible point, rather than move on to a related activity. Space Room kids are given Bibles to use in class so that they can engage by looking up various Bible passages related to the lesson, and they are often given the chance to volunteer to read verses to the rest of the class.
